We all carry within us the voice of God (the Holy Spirit), but also the voice of fear (the spirit of evil), and we freely choose whether to listen to God or not.
When we go through a difficult moment, the voice of fear rises quickly to fill us with anxiety, doubts, and negativity. It demands explanations we cannot reach, making us feel useless, without solutions, and unloved by God.
God always tells us, “Do not be afraid, I am always with you.” Yet somehow we forget this and listen instead to the louder voice that says: I can’t do it, it won’t work, why me, I’m not enough, what did I do wrong… and we repeat these thoughts until they become words—spoken to ourselves and to others—turning them into a kind of truth.
The voice of fear enters our mind, our mouth, and our heart. It paralyzes us, blinds us, labels us, and makes us believe what is not true. Even worse, it blocks us from hearing God’s voice saying: “Do not be afraid, I am always with you.”
It becomes difficult to understand and accept that God is with us in our suffering, and even harder to believe that He loves us in that very moment. We need to change the “frequency,” the “radio,” and listen to His voice. Instead of saying: I can’t, we must repeat: God is with me, He loves me, He will not abandon me, and with Him I can do it.
Then your mind, your body, and your heart begin to think, speak, and feel God. That is when you become aligned with Him, in the same harmony.
And so you begin to be filled with His grace, because grace is not only the gifts God gives us—it is God Himself giving and pouring Himself into us.
